Thermocouple Groove

We have had some questions about the profile of the thermocouple groove, so I thought I would pass along some pictures to clarify. I also discovered that we do not have good thermocouple pictures on our website, so they will be upgraded with these.

This is the profile of the groove into which the needle-type thermocouple is inserted. It slides along the groove (within the diameter of the heater and bore) to the tip of the heater and can monitor the temperature at any point along the profile of the heater, depending on how far it is inserted. The picture below shows the tip of the thermocouple inserted to monitor temperature at the hot tip of the catridge heater.
