Same DiameterThe Watt-Flex® cartridge heater is split sheath and required spacing in the header to accommodate its ability to expand when energized. The header is 1/8" larger in diameter than the heater and has an offset cut into it to allow for expansion. The larger diameter acts as an insertion stop so the heater is pushed into the bore as far as the header will allow.
This allows insertion of the heater in the bore up to the hose or braid attachment, or completely in the bore in the case of a straight header. There is, of course, an increase in the price of this attachment, but it allows the use of a Watt-Flex heater in an application that, otherwise, would be prohibited. Welding of this header would be done on both sides of the heater, but expansion in the bore would still occur as long as the heater is 10"+.

has not achieved, and never will achieve, its full potential, that word
would be "meetings." |
