A Lasting Impression

Our distributor in the U.K. sent along an email that he received that is representative of the feedback that he receives from his customers regarding the Watt-Flex® cartridge heater. He had asked for feedback from a university researcher who had purchased a small quantity of our split sheath heaters and received the following:

It has been almost one and half a year since I bought 5 heaters from you. You have asked me for a feedback as I planned to use the heaters at up to 1000C.

I have been using just one heater since because there were absolutely no problems. The heater has been exposed to about 650C for several hours and also provided very good service for long-time measurements below 600C. The reason why we did not go to 1000C at the end was that the sensors, which we tested, could not stand more than 550-650C. The heater did tremendous job for us because it was much reliable and had better performance than any previous cartridge heaters we used before.

I successfully finished my PhD research last year, now I am about to leave the university and looking for a job near Reading. My PhD successor is planning to modify the sensor so it can be used at higher temperatures. I believe she will be in touch with you in case more heaters or any modifications are necessary. Thank you for superb services.

Watt-Flex heaters will allow you to operate in higher temperature and more severe environments than conventional cartridge heaters. When you come across an application of this nature, check with your Regional Manager to determine what features we need to include to eliminate the problems your customer is certainly experiencing.
