Earlier this week I was soliciting a Watlow distributor who was basically unfamiliar with our Watt-Flex® cartridge heaters. After my initial "what, you've not heard of our split-sheath heaters?" reaction (which I keep to myself), I took him to our web page. His first question was the best straight line any Watt-Flex sales person could ask for ... he asked, "So, what makes your heater different from a standard cartridge heater?"

Nearly every customer to whom we sell has a computer in front of them. If you are not sitting across the desk, the ease of his computer becomes a great vehicle for getting your message across.

We looked at the profile of the conventional heater vs. the Watt-Flex heater. And we talked about expansion in the bore when energized for better heat transfer, as well as contraction for warranted removability. The great thing about this is that, for a few minutes, unless there is someone else in his office, you have his undivided attention. Well, I'm sure that I got my point across and soon I expect they will be touting the benefits of our heater.
