Travel Well

It is a huge piece of our lives and we need to do it right. Salespeople have all kinds of ways to plan travel. Some like to make the drive out early in the morning and work their way back home. Some do it in a big circle and some like to sleep in, make the first call close to home and make the drive at the end of the day. There are factors that become second nature to us like traffic, road construction, special local events, etc ... they all require extra thought about route planning.

Conscious decisions about travel have been reduced with the mobility of pagers, cell phones, computers and other devices. Reaction time is down and we can get caught in either a routine schedule or the ineffectiveness of reactive activity instead of proactive planning. The consciousness we must exercise is focused inquiry, new account discovery and parallel application selling. We will get deeper into this next week.
