Quality at
the Right Quantity
Dalton Electric Heating manufactures custom cartridge
heaters. With strict 100% Q.C.
checks on the heaters, we must manufacture more than the P.O. quantity
to insure that
we are able to ship the order complete. If the production run goes
perfectly as planned,
we will have 1,2 or 5 extra heaters.
Generally, customers are happy to accept these overages. Orders
are often for replacement stock and a couple extra in the storeroom
simply means that it will be a bit longer
before they reorder. Dalton Electric's pricing policy was originally
predicated on a tolerance built into the shipping quantity to accommodate
manufacturing overages. The general
terms have been +/-10%.
In an effort to mirror both customer expected quantities and overrun
manufacturing
tolerances, we have changed the shipping quantity tolerance as
follows:
| Order Quantity |
|
Quantity Shipment Variation |
6-19 |
|
+/- 1 heater |
20- 49 |
|
+/- 10% |
50 + |
|
+/- 5 heaters |
Heaters with a net price of $100+ each will be shipped at +/-5%
with a maximum
variation
of +/- 5 heaters.
We continue to place a statement at the bottom of quotations that allows some
degree of latitude if the customer is absolutely insistent of controlled quantities:
Exact quantities will be shipped for heaters from stock. A minimum
order
quantity of 5 applies to manufactured heaters and Dalton reserves
the right
to ship 90% to 110% of the quantity ordered (for quantities
of 19 or less, +/-
one heater) with a maximum of +/- 5 heaters unless "NO
OVERSHIPMENTS
ALLOWED" or "NO UNDERSHIPMENTS ALLOWED" is noted
on the order.
We do make allowances
for the occasional customer who requires an exact quantity
of
heaters or a minimum quantity on the shipment (i.e. a die maker that requires
8 heaters
and cannot tolerate an undershipment of 7). But we ask that you be aware of
our quantity
tolerance and respect the necessity for it.

Friday Funnies
A tour bus driver drives with a bus full of Sun City seniors down
a highway, when a little
old lady taps him on his shoulder. She offers him a handful of
almonds, which he gratefully
munches up.
After approximately 15 minutes, she taps him on his shoulder again
and she hands him
another handful of almonds. She repeats this gesture about eight
times.
At the ninth time he asks the little old lady why they do not
eat the almonds themselves,
whereupon she replies that it is not possible because of their
old teeth, they are not able
to chew them.
"Why do you buy them then?" he asks puzzled.
Where upon the old lady answers, "we just love the chocolate
around them." |
