We bust our backside to find and secure new customers.Once they've placed that first order, salespeople too often assume that they are in the fold. But many first-time customers will remain just that ... never to place a repeat P.O. with you. But with a little focus on service and feedback, you can get that second order and, eventually, their loyalty. here are a couple of thoughts on the process: Keep it fresh ... follow up with a first-time customer. Make a call or send an email. Ask about the experience buying from your company. Were their expectations met? Did the heaters (or other products) install and operate like they should?
Go beyond ... when the customer places an order, they tell you what they want. Give them that and more. Ask questions to make sure that they've ordered the optimum product for the application ... or is there something that provides a better fit? Anything else? ... once you have enjoyed the success of an order with a new customer, ask "what else?" Capitalize on your success and see what else in the process you can supply ... is there another application for the same product or do you have something else that they can use or need? In these difficult economic times, it isn't enough to get the order ... you must Bring em Back!
Friday Funnies A poodle and a collie are walking together when the poodle suddenly unloads on his friend. "My life is a mess," he says. "My owner is mean, my girlfriend ran away with a schnauzer, and I'm jittery as a cat." Why don't you go see a psychiatrist?" suggests the collie. "I can't," says the poodle. "I'm not allowed on the couch." |
