Customers leave for lots of reasons ... how do we prevent that and foster their loyalty? Here are a few points that cause them to leave and some proactive action as a remedy: 1) Sacrificed quality of service ... meeting customer expectations is the key here. As the economy slumps, you must make sure that the level of service and attention does not fall off. Work hard to keep up with customers, increase your exposure and call or email to follow up on quotes, shipped orders and future needs. 2) No consideration of the economy's effect ... loyalty dies if the customer perceives that they can't afford your products. The solution is to look for lower priced alternatives where there is no product differentiation, or stress the cost savings that your quality and performance related products provide (i.e. Watt-Flex® cartridge heaters). 3) Made to wait ... late answers or late products frustrate even the most understanding customer. Get back to the customer with commitments that you made. Get his orders placed on time. Read the acknowledgement to ensure that the order is correct. And hold the line with suppliers that are late (won't happen with Dalton). 4) Lack of appreciation ... it doesn't cost a thing to fire off a quick email to say thank you.
Friday Funnies Pastor Thompson woke up Sunday morning and realizing it was an exceptionally beautiful and sunny early spring day, decided he just had to play golf. So... he told the Associate Pastor that he was feeling sick and persuaded him to give the sermon that day. As soon as the Associate Pastor left the room, Pastor Thompson headed out of town to a golf course about forty miles away. This way he knew he wouldn't accidentally meet anyone he knew from his church. Setting up on the first tee, he was alone. After all, it was Sunday morning and everyone else was in church! At about this time, Saint Peter leaned over to the Lord while looking down from the heavens and exclaimed, "You're not going to let him get away with this, are you?" The Lord sighed, and said, "No, I guess not." Just then Pastor Thompson hit the ball and it shot straight towards the pin, dropping just short of it, rolled up and fell into the hole. IT WAS A 420 YARD HOLE IN ONE! St. Peter was astonished. He looked at the Lord and asked, "Why did you let him do that?" The Lord smiled and replied, "Who's he going to tell?"
