Ad Change

Dalton Electric has just finished planning advertising for 2007 with our ad agency. A few changes are taking place in the market and in the way that prospects and customers respond to print media. Year ago we moved from space ads to post card decks for a variety of reasons: customers responded directly to us and we could react quickly, we know that a customer that completed a postcard was expressing greater interest than simply circling a number on a bingo card, and we could actually get feedback about the nature of their application.

But the internet has impacted our 2007 placement design. Prospects no longer complete postcards with previous frequency and they seldom circle bingo cards... rather, they simply log onto our web site and get the info that they want. So we are seeing two trends. We are moving back to space ads from postcard deck (which seem to be declining in popularity and frequency) and we are moving to paid advertising on the Internet with direct links to www.daltonelectric.com. We have also changed our ads. This ad (right) will appear in 2007 in both horizontal (broad appeal) and vertical (product or process specific) publications. Our address is gone ... no one writes anymore. They just call or log on. But the orientation remains the same: we can solve a problem. Bore Seizure, Uneven Heating, Poor Performance, etc. We look forward to a 2007 filled with problems to solve and prospects to turn into customers ... with your help.

Little Davies's kindergarten class was on a field trip to their local police station where they saw pictures tacked to a bulletin boars of the 10 most wanted criminals. One of the youngsters pointed to a picture and asked if it really was the photo of a wanted person.

"Yes," said the policeman. "The detectives want very badly to capture him.
